A perfect day

Opening the curtains at 7am the day looked promising - a clear sky, a crisp start. We decided on a walk to our favourite park, via our favourite coffee shop in Hobart's oldest suburb.

At 10am the winter sun was still low enough to throw some brilliant shadows and cast a beautiful glow on everything it touched. We walked up past Fitzroy Gardens...

and on through Battery Point, Hobart's historic suburb.

It's nearly daffodil season and everywhere I turned I saw these cheerful blooms...

Finally we reached the park (where it's important to wear sensible shoes).

And there was plenty to do. First, the swings...

next, a game of soccer....

some climbing...

and one last slide before the long walk home.

The excitement of the morning hit when we reached the front porch. Shoes and clothes are discarded in preparation for bed.
